BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!

I have had some issues with turning 29, mainly because it is my last birthday in my twenty's. I know 29 is not old, but to someone who still feels like she is 18 it seems a little old. I know my grand mama (who reads this blog) is going to get onto me for saying 29 is old!! Actually I need to do what she did. One year for her 77th birthday she went the whole year thinking she was 78, the next year came around she recalculated and realized she was actually turning 78 this year, so she was able to stay the same age for 2 years!!! That sounds good to me! All that to say Michael wanted to make my birthday really special. First I need to tell you Michael and I love the Amazing Race. We have always wanted to go on that show, but now that we have Finn it is not worth missing a single day in Finn's life to try. Maybe we will go when we are 80!! That would be so fun. Anyways, since I can't do the Amazing Race, Michael wanted to bring it to me. When he got home at 12 (he took a 1/2 day) he handed me an envelope that said "Amazing Wife" with the globe on it. I opened it up and there was the first clue.

first clue: as a member of the original cast of Gilligan's Island, this character portrayed the typical "girl next door." Lets go have some lunch so that we can have some energy for our journey..... Mary Ann's!!! My favorite restaurant downtown.

Oh yeah, at every stop I had to go in and tell them it was my birthday before they would give me a clue! Little embarrassing!

second clue: Unlike another export from the country of Columbia, this particular drug is not regulated by the DEA. While disapproved of by most dentists, this next stop could be the favorite of Dr. Brabston. (OK , this one was a little hard for me. first answer was cocaine. stupid I know! I had to first reali?e caffeine was the drug. Did you know that, I didn't. What tipped me off is that Dr. Brabstons first name is Gene. There is a cute coffee and icecream shop across the street called MR. GENES BEANS!!!!) That was it!!!

third clue: The weather has warmed, and the beach is calling. Certain work must be performed in order to be ready for flip flop season.

lets travel north.

There is a Majestic place that rest between Monday and Wednesday that holds our next clue.

(here is what i thought: Tuesday morning! flip flops? oh toes! Majestic nails!!! Majestic nails is right beside Tuesday morning at the Eastern Shore Center which is north of Fairhope!!! Michael dropped me off to get my clue and a pedicure, while he and finn played in the fountain.

I was too excited about my pedicure that I forgot to take a picture!!!!

Fourth clue: Our entertainment tonight will be provided by a retail chain started in Texas in 1985. The name of the store is a term for a successful entertainment production. (I got this one quick. Blockbuster!!!!) We drove to blockbuster, I hopped out rented a movie and got my final clue!

Fifth Clue: The Culinary delight is actually named for what is on the outside (not the inside.) Our next destination will lead us to a place named after the Military nobility of pre-industrial Japan. (I got this one quick too!!!!) "Samurai J" Sushi!!!
So that was my fabulous birthday!!!! Thanks so much Michael!!! Timing worked out Perfect! By the time we picked up or Sushi it was time for dinner while watching our movie!! we made a couple of stops along the way so Finn wouldn't get board (Parks, bay, cookies!!)

Here are some pictures of our stops inbetween the Amazing Race

I had to include this last picture. It really cracks me up. Finn never meets a stranger. Finn saw some kids having a snack and decided he would get one from their parents also. Heres the kicker they didn't speak english!!! good thing the moonpie they gave him was still in a wrapper otherwise I would have had to make a big scene of knocking it out of his hands and trying to come up with a reason why he couldn't eat it. We normally don't eat food from strangers:)

Michael needs an award for that one! How much fun! We have moon pies at our house right now, but if Finn asked Paige for one I'm afraid she'd beat him over the head with it and run the other way! :)Glad they were willing to share! Happy Birthday!!

I LOVE that he ate a moon pie with kids who don't speak english! I wonder what that mom told her husband when she got home....too funny. I love little Finn. He always makes me smile! Again, Happy Birthday. Love you!
