Well it's official Shands will be here in the next two weeks, and I couldn't be any more excited about meeting this little blessing. Michael and I have been wondering what he will be like, if he will be like Finn or be completely different? Who knows, we do know we are going to love the little man something fierce. He is truly a child we have prayed for. As for his name, yes it is my maiden name, but he is really named after my mom. I know Shands was her married name but it was a name she loved. I remember asking her if she ever got sick of hearing her name
"Mrs. Shands" (she was a sixth grade teacher so she heard it a lot!!) She said" oh no, I love the name shands!" Therefore we decided to name him Shands in honor of my mom, and I know that she would love it, and that makes me happy. Oh, his middle name is Everett. Peace out.

What an honor to name him after you mom. She was truly a woman of God and loved by so many. She touched my heart along with countless others. Good luck with your baby. I've got to say, I LOVE having two boys. They are 2 years and 9 months apart and it has been a great age difference. My oldest loves his baby brother so much and we say it is his baby, born just for him ;) He is almost 7 months old now and they are really starting to play together and it just melts my heart to see them interact with one another. You will be in my prayers over the next month!
