kitchen "finally"

Ok, so most of you know we bought our house from our friends Joe and Laura, so I first need to say LAURA DID NOT DESIGN THIS KITCHEN!! All the horrible 6x6 tile, red floral like wall paper, crazy fluorescent light fixture, and old (ancient) black appliance had been there for 15 plus years, they were not there by Laura's choice. She was as eager to build a new kitchen as I was to redo this one. The first two pictures were taken before we even moved in.Check SpellingI knew it was going to be a little while before we could tackle the whole kitchen so we did what we could do ourselves, like peel down wallpaper, paint , take down the gosh awful lights, and replace appliances (one more to go).

The next pictures are of our kitchen cleared right before demo began. Michael AKA demo man cracked this baby out in no time flat!!! There were 6x6 tiles everywhere! Seriously, all the counter tops, back splash, and some walls up to the ceiling were TILE!!! Too much for me! Oh by the way the ugly green color on the wall is not actually green at all, it's a gray. The green is compliments of my old camera.

This picture of all the mis-matched appliances cracks me up. I wish I had a picture of the old microwave and dishwasher so you could see them in all there glory. I am happy to say they have all found new homes, except for the tried and true trash compactor, that little gem is still with us. I tried to give him a semi face lift with some stainless steel contact paper, which actually looks ok except I couldn't detach the control panel to finish the process so it looks like he is having an identity crisis " am I black or am I stainless?? black stainless black stainless ahhhhhhhhhh!! "
So much demo the painters prep had to be reprepped and reprepped. Did I ever tell you the paint had an adhesion issue!! Oh my heart just broke when I had to show Mike (our amazing painter and on fire witness for Christ) how the paint would peel right off. Well he worked out the kinks and now it is going to take an act of God to get the paint off these cabinets.
Well, we still have to paint the ceiling but for the most part here it is... The walls are Benjamin Moore dove white, and the cabinets are grey horse.

I should have cleaned my fridge before I took this picture, you can see all the sweet little hand prints , that's ok I love all the little reminders, that I live with the most precious little munchkins.
