For the last 7 weeks I can't remember if I have had 2 consecutive hours of sleep. Just going by the way I look and feel, I'm thinking no. Almost 7 weeks ago this sweet precious child entered our lives. Although he doesn't have much to do with our sleepless nights.

This is the culprit.

Sweet Finn is not all to blame. A squirrel named Sammy is my main enemy. About a month ago I was standing in my bedroom when I heard something walking around in my ceiling. Of course I completely freaked out and screamed not thinking twice about the sweet child standing next to me. From that day on Finn has decided he is scared to be by himself much less sleep in his own room. So not only have we had a newborn to wake up with (who is in our room) but also a scared little munchkin sleeping in our bed (who wakes up screaming from nightmares). After a couple of nights in our bed we convinced him to sleep in the pack-n-play next to our bed on the condition that we hold his hand (all night long!!!). So, what we have is 4 sleeping in 1 bedroom when we have 3 more bedrooms to sleep in upstairs!!! Crazy, I know. So I was bound and determined to get everyone in their own room. We even moved upstairs to the guest bedroom so Finn wouldn't be scared. My plan was definitely not his. Finn screamed for 4 hours!!! I even tried supper nanny's tactics of standing by the door for him to be comforted. I would try to tip toe away then I would hear "Mommy please don't leave" followed by AHHHHHH AHHHHH!!! This is so foreign to me, Finn use to be a GREAT sleeper. After about 2 hours of trying to be nice, Michael and I just sat in the bed praying. 2 more hours went by of pure screaming, and then finally, silence? Finn finally fell asleep. At this point it was 4 in the morning, 15 mins later Shands wakes up. SERIOUSLY!?!?!? All we could do was laugh at this point. I know, I am suppose to be thankful in all circumstances, so I am thankful for Finn's determination, one day it will help succeed in life. Maybe tonight will be different? I hope so!!!

Krista! I am so glad to see a new pic. I can not get over the hair Shands has. I am dying to see him in person!! Finn looks precious in the other pic. I will say a prayer that you will get at least 4 consecutive hours of sleep tonight! Miss you

I see that the squirrel situation doesn't seem to have gotten better. I think you need to try to get rid of it. Is that possible? I can't believe Shands red hair. I love it! Definitely praying for you and your family to get some much needed rest.
